About Mickael Lafon

Mickael Lafon began his dance training at the Paris Opera Ballet School in Nanterre at the age of nine. His path was not immediate or obvious: for many years he remained discreet, physically “out of step,” and not among the most recognized students. Through persistence, time, and dedicated work, he gradually built his place and transformed his body and artistry. This experience has profoundly shaped his vision of teaching: every dancer progresses at their own pace, and the journey is as meaningful as the result.

At eighteen, he joined the Corps de Ballet of the Paris Opera Ballet, where he developed a strong classical foundation within the core repertoire. Very quickly, he felt the need to explore new sensations, languages, and a more organic relationship to movement, which led him toward contemporary dance.

He has since had the privilege of collaborating with major contemporary choreographers and participating in several creations. This work deepened his dance into a more grounded, sensitive, and present form, focused on listening, authenticity, and the truth of the gesture. Contemporary dance taught him to trust the body’s intelligence, embrace vulnerability, and transform it into strength.

Both on stage and in the studio, Mickael seeks precision and emotional clarity. He builds on a solid technical base, then lets musicality, intention, and expression emerge naturally. His teaching philosophy is rooted in presence, listening, and the joy of movement. He encourages dancers to find their own voice, using technique as a foundation for true artistic freedom.
